Description
Sarouk Persian rugs are hand knotted in the Markazi Province of Iran.
Up until the turn of the century, Sarouk rugs were woven in designs similar to those of more traditional Persian rugs like Kashan and Isfahan. The flowing flower bouquet designs of the more recent Sarouk weaves have been influenced by western tastes and have grown to be extremely popular.
Our collection of modern Sarouk rugs is intricately woven using fine kork wool with a strong and thick cotton foundation. The wool is soft to touch and has a distinctive lustre.
